To protect our water, sewer, and gas lines the Village and Arlington Natural Gas Co. need you to call the Ohio Utility Protection Service (OUPS) at 1-800-362-2764 or 811 before you dig.  This service is free and your local utility company will identify these lines for you.  It is also required by law to call; otherwise, you may be responsible for damages to the water, sewer, gas lines, and/or other underground structures. It’s the Law!

Our new Veterans Memorial looks fantastic and we want to continue to honor the veterans of Van Buren and the surrounding townships. Memorial Bricks are available to purchase at a cost of $40 each. Simply download this FORM and mail your payment and information to the included address.

Preserving and enhancing the Village’s natural assets is a high priority in Van Buren. The efforts of the Environmental Stewardship Committee , which consist of council members, have resulted in budgeting and planting 10 new trees for each of  the past several years. We ask that no person plant, prune, brace, cable, spray, or otherwise perform work on a tree street right-of-ways without first obtaining the prior approval of the Environmental Stewardship Committee. The Village wants to extend to each resident the opportunity to create a lasting memorial by donating a tree in memory of relatives, friends or in honor of a commemorative occasion. Contact Don Wills at 419-306-0531 for further information.

A Recycling Drop-Off Center is located on the Van Buren Schools property just east of the bus garage. The center will be open 24/7 and handle glass (brown and clear), plastics (#1 & #2), tin cans, aluminum cans, newspapers, magazines, and cardboard only. Recycling is a simple way for the residents to help out the environment and help preserve natural resources from being depleted.

Any individual or company that wishes to solicit business door-to-door must first complete and submit a Solicitation Permit to the Village of Van Buren Clerk.

The fee of $25.00 must be paid before a Solicitation Permit is issued.
